One Great Step Forward, Several Annoying Steps Back

Firstly this is definitely an improvement over the previous instalment but sadly considering the state of the last game that really does not say much.
Improvements:
The return of GM mode ( a stripped down more limited version then what was available years ago)
Visuals have improved in most places (On pc at least I can't say for any other system)
C.A.W is better (It's more restrictive than years ago and they are still not good at hair)
What gotten worse:
The control's are now simpler but worse for it as it basically plays like a fighting game now. Requiring combos for moves meaning nearly every move starts with punches/ kicks to start the move, each punch/ kick can be blocked/ reversed before you even get to the actual move which can also be reversed.
The reversals are now effectively a game of rock/ paper/ scissors with grapples/ light and heavy attacks all having a different reversal button. There is no limit on reversals unless you are stunned then no reversal at all, the computer abuses this to the maximum and I would assume players can as well if you can memorise which button to press for every move in the game (some light/heavy attacks look/act like grapples).
The myrise mode contains so much extra content (Locked behind loot boxes) that is not usable in any other mode, when this includes wrestlers/ attires/ entrances and arenas it really feels restrictive and a little sleazy.
Personally I buy every wrestling game and would sadly end up getting it even if it was terrible (this is neither good or bad).
I would only recommend getting this if you specifically want a new wrestling game and get it cheap on sale, you will likely have some fun but get very annoyed and bored faster than you would want in this type of game.
