As any fan of the franchise will know,... TLDR: Must have for every fan, but still a janky game.
As any fan of the franchise will know, good Yugioh games are rare and today almost all of them have to be played on an emulator. The "official" mainstream games are atrocious and a disgrace to the card game genre as a whole. Fans can't decide if the extremly simplified (and absurdly P2W) mobile focused "Duel Links" or the buggy whale milking simulator known as "Master Duel" is the worse game, we can agree that they are unplayable.
"Legacy of the Duelist" has remained the only actually playable and unaltered Yugioh experience and while the original was infested with DLCs, this version has all the original DLCs included and some slight improvements. I don't understand why "Link Evolution" was marketed as a sequel, which it clearly isn't, but that's Konami for you.
The Multiplayer is totally useless, as there is no banlist update, no set rotation and no updates to include newer sets. So expect to see the same totally broken decks on rotation every single round, most of which will end on turn 3 at last depending on the draw. You might aswell play a coinflip simulator. Cheating was also an issue, but the MP is dead now anyway.
But then again, if you are a serious player, you play a community made game like EDOPro with near certainty anyway.
HOWEVER and this is why I still recommend this game to any fan. It is absolutely amazing to play with friends.
You get a ton of sets to choose from and an easy and convenient way to play the game with friends. The game is appealing to players who are not that much into YGO and it does a great job at explaining the rules to newbies.
This and the SP still make it absolutely worth buying for a price of less than 3 packs in Master Duel.
